Waybox
Distributed bookmark processing service powered by the Transactional Outbox Pattern, RabbitMQ, and an end-to-end observability stack.

Project Overview
About This Project
Waybox is an event-driven, distributed bookmark processing system designed around the Transactional Outbox Pattern, RabbitMQ message queuing, OpenTelemetry distributed tracing, and an isolated asynchronous worker pipeline. When a user submits a URL, the HTTP API acknowledges the request in milliseconds by committing the bookmark and an outbox event in a single atomic database transaction. An asynchronous worker pool pulls events from RabbitMQ, strictly validates URLs against SSRF threats, extracts DOM metadata, performs AI content categorization, and durably records the snapshot.
The Result
A resilient distributed bookmark processing service with transactional outbox, asynchronous worker queues, and full OpenTelemetry observability.
Key Features
- Transactional Outbox Pattern with SKIP LOCKED Relay
- Decoupled RabbitMQ Worker Pipeline with DLQ & Idempotency
